We have been in Vivoli many times and the gelato is indeed excellent. I don't know how the other reviewers can call it the best in town if they have not sampled all the gelateria in Florence. We thought there were many other gelateria with equally excellent gelato. But if you are near Santa Croce you should try Vivoli. more

We have eaten in Mama Gina (Oltrarno, near the river) three times, and the results were consistently good. The service has always been exceptional and the atmosphere is very relaxing, not noisy.
