We stopped over here on our way back north to the ferry from our stay in Tuscany. Whilst the climb up to the Gasthof was steep and some 8km it was well worth it as the view from the hotel was amazing. Our son visited two summers ago and came home raving about how wonderful this was. Our daughter visited in June 2009, and Roberto came down the mountain to pick her up after a delayed train schedule. The hotel attempts to be "grand". Excellent staff, great lobby, modern furniture in the room, many lighting options, large bath, great view. The only thing left to wish is air conditioning - and it is not there. Well, it is still in the mountains, night air is cool, but rooms are still hot in the night. Unacceptable for a hotel... more
