We stayed here for 3 nights in September 2009 on a driving tour of Castille. The hotel is right by the start of the Roman aquaduct (where it is only a few feet high), which you follow for about ten minutes to the bottom of town where the aquaduct spans the valley in a series of spectacular arches - when... more

Rooms Ok . Outlook was over backs of apartments - no privacy. Breakfast in the hotel very poor. No fruit or cereal. Just toast and a few cakes. No dining room. You have to travel to a restaurant owned by the hotel about 15 minutes away by a very difficult route. This is unsuitable for older visiters or people with... more

We are an older couple who appreciate good food and spend much effort to find it. We ate at Villena two nights ago, and it was perhaps the best meal of my life. The tragedy was that we ate alone, the only patrons all evening. Every course was novel, creative, delicious, beautiful. Genius. more

The Segovia Parador, with its splendid views of the town, has enough problems that I cannot recommend it. Like a prior reviewer, we arrived this past Wednesday anxious to cool off in their pool. But it sat there, locked for no apparent reason. Well, maybe we can use the indoor pool at least, but that was locked as well until... more

Tiny room, but one of the most spectacular locations in the world. A little difficult to find because of pedestrianized streets. Park at the Lemans lot and walk from there. The hotel will stamp your parking receipt for free or reduced parking. Hotel is on the Plaza, which can be noisy, but is the social center of the city. An... more

Lovely location and easy sign-posting as one enters the city, which is not true of most other hotels. Excellent value for money and a cracking restaurant across the road with a lovely waitress named Mari-Luce. more

We stayed here one night on a driving trip through Spain. Very helpful staff, delicious breakfast, convenient free parking. Within walking distance of the Aqueduct and Plaza. Pretty good walk to the Alcazar, but can be done. Would definitely stay here again. more

Like a previous reviewer, I stayed in this hotel while walking the Camino de Santiago. I also had had a tiring, wet day and fancied taking a break from dormitory accommodation. This hotel is on the main road, quite close to both the private and the municipal pilgrims' albergues, as you exit the town. Receptionist was very friendly. The twin... more

the hotel in a very good location just outside the old city. two minute walk to go everywhere, but in a small street with hardly any noise. rooms clean big and functional. not romantic or great design if that is what you are looking for. breakfest nice, we dont eat meat or ham in the morning so had less choise... more

This isn't a big expensive hotel but it's a kind of a design one, very modern. The rooms are very good and at the breakfast room as view to Plaza Mayor. Anyway, the best thing about this hotel is its location: pratically in Plaza Mayor (the Big Square in Salamanca). The entry for this hotel is on a street near... more

The restaurant looks good and has both smoking and non smoking sections which is unusual for Spain. Unfortunately we weren't told this so ended up in the smoking section. The starter of tempura langoustines was good, the prawns fresh and nicely cooked although they were served on too much greenery. However the main course was a disaster. My husband and... more

Las Leyandas has recently been renovated and it has been well done. Our room was spacious and well fitted out. It did face the cobbled road which was a little noisy but it didn't interrupt our sleep. The restaurant upstairs looks nice and has smoking and non smoking sections (something we didn't realise until we were sat in the wrong... more

The Hacienda is a wine estate just outside of Salamanca. The buildings have been sensitively converted and there is a separate Spa but no pool. The rooms were well equipped but dark so it was quite hard to read in the room. The major issue seemed to be the staffing level. When we arrived the receptionist didn't spek English so... more

The region of Soria is a more natural and rural part of the country, a little off the beaten path. We were visiting to reconnect with a volunteer work camp I participated in ten years ago. Because the region is a little less visited, we could not find information on the type of rural inn we were looking for. Luckily,... more

This was one of those hotels where the front desk staff seemed to come from a different planet to those in the restaurant. The former appeared to be friendly and helpful whereas the latter resented the presence of us mere guests. If I ever wanted to be near this noisy square again, which frankly I doubt, I would opt for... more

We recently spent 5 nights at the Oasis Horus Hotel in Salamanca. The hotel is located out of town, which was not a problem as there is a convenient bus stop just across the road. The bus takes you into Salamanca city centre in less than 10 minutes and it is relatively frequent (every 15 mins during the day and... more

Cheaper than the Parador, but for good reasons: the hotel does certainly not deserve its 4 stars. The rooms are chastly furnished, at 35 degrees no air conditioning was working, the shower was either cold or boiling hot, the breakfast was simple, the entire atmosphere reflected the 50s during which it was apparently established within an old city palace. Room... more

This was something we'd looked forward to. The first night in Spain at the beginning of a 3 week tour. First impressions were good - reasonable car park, efficient check in and a realy nice room - lots of space, clean and tastefully decorated. We went down to dinner in good spirits, entered a lovely room - and everything went... more

Me and my wife recently visited Salamanca for a weekend break and stayed at the Alameda Palace due to its great rates and the great reviews I read in Tripadvisor about the place. And well... the lobby is quite impressive (but far too overelaborate, anyway). You get to the reception desk, check-in (not the fastest ever seen...), and take the... more

Well, I was expected something cold, business like facilities. I have found cozy hotel with 2 outstanding restaurants (local people come here!) and with fantastic location on the main Ponferrada square. Rooms are small but good enough, service is excellent and staff speaks English (!). Rooms are clean. Hotel is stylish but not too fancy what is probably good choice.... more
