The hotel is typical of one type of Etap. They seem to fall into two categories - the newish, modern, OK versions or those which are converted from something else - twon centre htoel which must have failed as anything grander than an etap and been taken into the chain because otherwise it would be demolished. a wonderful old building from afar, but once inside its a depressing place indeed. in need of some tlc, friendly staff and customers! was quite creepy staying there. poor quality linen and no dinner availability didn't help. neither did the adjacent train line. stick to places in tain l'hermitage if you are on the wine circuit. more
