We called in for lunch on Saturday. Pub was packed but we managed to find a small table. Spoiled for choice with the selection of Real Ales available and the promised quality IS delivered. as an ex-landlord I know it's not an easy task to ensure all your ales are in perfect condition but the guvn'r here knows his stuff.... more

My single room did not have enough light in it to be able to read easily or work - they brought up a desk lamp which did not improve things particularly well. The lounge menu for tea and cake left a lot to be desired if you did not like chocolate as that was the only cake or shortbread they... more
