Went to this restaurant with an intention of having drink and dinner. We started with beer and 2 starters..but the food was salty and not very tasty. The hotel is situated in the centre of Ayr, only a few minutes walk from the sea. It has a large and free car park. The room (79 Pound B&B per night for a couple) was lovely, with a vew to the sea, spacious bathroom, well equipped (iron and board, plenty of room to hang clothes, wide bed, safe etc.)... more

Booked at £70 bed and breakfast through Laterooms, the Western House is terrific value. Rooms are well equipped, Sky tv, and free wi-fi plus nice selection of smellies in the bathroom. Breakfast is top class, and although the firm pillows didn't help me sleep, softer ones can apparently be obtained from reception. A definite to return to. more
