The exterior of the castle is quite big but not particularly architecturally noteworthy. The approach to the castle through its parklands is quite attractive but the parking is just on grass fields which can get soggy in the Scottish climate. We stayed as part of a group and on arrival there was a problem with the booking - not having enough rooms available, not only for our group but others arriving as well. Luckily we sorted out the room arrangements between ourselves - the management offered each room a bottle of champagne for gesture of goodwill. Staff were very helpful... more
