I know this hotel well. Stayed there a few times. Shabby but genteely so in a quaint British way. Bought over by the Von Essen hotels and now a rip-off. Old gracious decor ripped out and silly stuff substituted. For example, rather than an elegant loveseat, you must now sit on the floor on cushions lolling about the coffee table.... more
Have stayed at the Foley Arms on numerous occasions since August 2009, and have always found the rooms to be excellent - atmosphere and charm, what a change after the clinical sameness of so many hotels. Beds comfortable, hospitality tray well stocked. Staff always ready to go the extra mile - so nice to be greeted by name when coming... more
Had a one night stay, somewhat unplanned. Will definitely return... love the menu in the restaurant and the staff are particularly friendly. more
