Quite surprised at some of the negative comments because from the moment we arrived (and following the directions sent with booking we found it easily) to the moment we left we had the most relaxing weekend, we were welcomed with coffee and a scrummy cup cake. Our suite was amazing very large and lovely little touches like a chocolate on... more
We had a great time at the Tarvic 2. Service was great, staff and Manager were lovely. Food was lovely. Rooms were big and very clean. For the money you pay for the room you cannot fault what you get. I would definately reccommend this hotel to others and would go back to this hotel if i was to return... more
We stayed at the Bay House Hotel for 3 nights and were very impressed. The place is clean, in an excellent location, (pubs, shops, beach just a short walk away), and with excellent views over the sea from the bar and breakfast room. Breakfast was one of the largest I have had at any hotel I have stayed at. The... more
We stayed for a week and feel we have to return as we were made to feel really welcome, good food most home made, great entertainment 3 differant singers and table top horse racing one night had a great time as did all guests we really got to know each other and the owners bernie and lesley put every effort... more
Spotlessly clean, a cracking breakfast and plenty to do. I really don't know what else to say except that the friendly and ever helpful owners, Mick & Jan, obviously really love what they do and this really is reflected in every aspect of St Georges. Can't recommend it enough for anyone visiting the Island. A great base for any holiday... more
We stayed here for our anniversay, and could not fault the room or the service in any way. It was spotlessly clean and we really appreciated the little extras - fruit, slices of cake, milk, bottled water and a bottle of wine for our special day. Nothing was too much trouble. It is set in a lovely peaceful area, yet... more
A shabby hotel in need of total redecoration, bedrooms you couldn`t swing a cat in, and upon arrival on a wet day becareful of the 3 litre ice- cream tubs on the floor in reception they are necessary to catch the rain dripping through the ceiling. It is extremely cheap, and you do get what you are paying for, but the only... more
Where do I start?....maybe at the most serious point.....the Fire Exit in the dining room was chained and padlocked from the inside which is illegal and deadly! The food is shocking, and I mean shocking. Everyting is done on the cheap and is pre-cooked. The fried eggs must have been cooked way in advance as they had a wierd rubbery... more
We booked a superior deluxe room and was told by the management that the room was their "honeymoon suite"....i beg to differ! Room was quite small for what i consider to be a superior deluxe with no tea or coffee facilities and a tv with only 4 channels. The bathroom was beyond small with a bath that had not been... more
That was our first visit to Isle of Wight and it was our anniversary. The location is sea facing and owners/managers are very friendly. I got all the help I wanted to roam around the Isle and I really enjoyed the sea facing view with my family. The experience is unforgettable and we will stay at same place if we... more

Ate here on Monday 9th of Novemeber. Recommended by the local hotel as the best bet in town. There was a tempting meal offer advertised in the window, and the "owner" made us most welcome. The offer included a starter each and a main meat course each plus a naan - no paopadums or pickles as far as I am... more
i read some of the reviews with interest and shall detail the issues welcoming - yes - but felt as though was a bit of a bother cottage given instead of a room in the house - good ish cleanliness - windows have not seen the cleaner in ages, beeding old mismatched, smelly - actaully as we had a washer... more
We came by boat and decided there were just too many people on board for a comfortable night's sleep. Annie and her husband were so welcoming and we had one of the loveliest rooms overlooking the busy Cowes waters. As sailors it was fascinating to see all the comings and goings from the hillside. The breakfast was first class, as... more
went to lugleys with some friends my wife ordered a g and t and the other 3 of us decided on a bottle of wine the waiter poured the wine and filled three glasses to the brim and completely emptied the bottle. we struggled to pick up the glasses without spilling them. we had also ordered a bottle of sparkling... more
Arrived at the Hamborough hot, sweaty and exhausted after cycling across the IOW from Ryde in July. (we are from London so this was a major achivement for us!) Frankly we would have washed in a bird bath and fallen asleep on a washing line but thankfully the Hamborough is far from bird feed! The lovely girl at reception helped... more
I had read the reviews on here prior to taking the trip, but as it was just a weekend away using Tesco Clubcard vouchers I decided to take the risk. The Hotel isn't that bad. It is in an old building, so there's lots of stairs and odd corridors, I don't think there was a lift, I certainly didn't see... more
Excellent B&B. A beautiful house perched just above the centre of Ventnor with lovely sea views and the beach only a 5 minute walk away. Deb and Jerry were fantastic hosts - very welcoming and with plenty of ideas for things to see and do on the island. The breakfasts were very generous, which is good when have a day... more
