We've just returned from spending our Christmas at the Blyth in Southwold. What a fabulous few days we've had. We feel like we've eaten and drank like kings and our doggy has thoroughly enjoyed himself too. This is our second visit to the Blyth and I'm sure we'll be back. Arlingtons was opened just before Christmas 2008 and is in the converted Ipswich Museum building that was derelict for a while. The restaurant is upstairs, with the cafe and sandwich shop using the ground floor. Its a little out of the way, but a great find. The food is priced reasonably - 4oz burger with fries and salad for £4.95... more
Although not exactly the country house which we imagined, it was a nice place and our room was well appointed. Service was good. Dinner was cooked well enough - but breakfast was exceptional. All in all, a good stay. more
