“A very basic hotel”

The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk from the city centre. It is a basic hotel with no character. The reception employees are friendly but the restaurant staff on the other hand is surly. The room is very small and tired looking.. The room is the equivalent of a motel in Australia, no frills and basic. Definitely not value... more

Stayed 3 nights in July 09. Rooms are very basic, Travellodge standard so really not sure how the hotel is a four star AA rated hotel. Clean, basic and the pool area and bar were nice. Staff friendly. Didn't eat in the hotel. Not really suitable for a spa break - only a couple of loungers by the pool and... more

Four buddies stayed at the Benson House this past weekend and we were impressed with the cleanliness and service of the Benson House staff. Our breakfast was outstanding - proper, good...and served with all points. I'm exhausted from travels right now, so my superlatives are rather muted, but I didn't want the moment to go by without giving my recommendation.... more
