Dont get me wrong, this place is pretty neat. I would say the ruins in Tulum were better though since they were set on cliffs overlooking the Gulf. However, Chichen Itza is very touristy, it was really packed when i was there and there are guides all around trying to get you to pay them for them to show you... more
We were in Chichen Itza the second week in Dec. 2009 and were disappointed to see this truly wonderful place turned into a market full of vendors trying to sell you $1 crap.
