The vision and location are splendid, including the climb down to the private beach; in Caravelle bay (same as Club Med) which is amongst the best of the whole island. As it was beginning of French schoolyear, some of the featured sports and activities were unavailable - because the people who run them were vacationing after the peak period! We stayed at the La Toubana the week of Dec. 10th 2008. We found the kitchen sparsely stocked as far as cookware and utensils. We made due, but it was very limited. One frying pan, one sauce pan, no pot holders, no spatula.... you get the point. It was a challenge for me the cook. The rooms were generally clean... more
