Paradise Inn

Was raining and snowing the whole time - one of the biggest ever June snowfalls for Mt. Rainier so we stayed inside (just there to see the sights). Enjoyed the fireplaces, wine, piano player and ambiance of the Paradise. Seemed to be a great base for mountain hikers in this newly remodeled lodge. Couple of complaints include that fact it... more

My boyfriend and I spent two nights at the Paradise Inn soon after its reopening in May 2008. (The hotel underwent two years of renovation between 2006 and 2008.) Writing a review for a property in a national park is unlike writing any other kind of review, primarily because there's a good chance that you'll still stay at the Paradise... more

This was a bit pricey for our pocketbook but it was definetly worth every penny. The lodge is tucked away just a couple miles outside the National Park, in the national forest. We stayed in a 1st floor corner apartment. It was immaculately clean. The facility is well cared for and the staff was so friendly and helpful. This one... more

We stayed at the Paradise Inn the first night it reopened (May 16, 2008). Unfortunately, the 2 year remodeling project was only the lodge, dining room and public areas. The rooms were cut out (over budget?). I didn't expect flawless service on the first night of being open, but there were still a few negatives that had nothing to do... more

Even though the ski slopes are closed you can still go to Crystal Mountain and visit the highest restaurant in Washington along with the very nice views. The photo will show we turned back today with the snow falling so heavily The road was open, but it got pretty scary half way up to Crystal Mountain Lodge. All it too... more

We have written a review only 1 time before regarding our trip to Alaska (Miller's Landing in Seward, 9/07), so we don't do this often. I felt compelled to review the National Park Inn at Longmire Washington. If you have seen our review as mentioned above, you will note that we are from Alabama and are avid backpackers, especially during... more

Was a bit surprised to say the least. Watched several tables leave as they noticed the prices, and we thought It might be a little pricy, but let me tell you something. The amount of food you get for the price is superb! We definatelty didn't go away hungry. The waitress we had was quite knowledgable considering she'd been there... more

This is just the kind of place we like, close and secluded. Although it snowed about 1meter everyday, the owner was out plowing to make sure guests could get in/out safely. We enjoyed the Bonfire, hot chocolate and smores! And some fresh baked cookies in the rec room when the power went out. Great sledding on the hill behind the... more

The mountain is great - Had a great time skiing. But the people that work there are horrible. They over charged me and then argued with me about fixing it - then another person in the office started arguing with me (they were charging $40 since the top of the mountain was closed but they charged me the full price... more

Crystal Mtn is a skier's mountain, but is a poor choice if you are interested in the entire resort package -- fine lodging, numerous upscale restaraunts, shopping, music and so on -- because it is located on state lands. There is barely a skiing village on the mountain, a few rental cabins, hotels, and restaraunts. Some of this anciallary stuff... more

While the surroundings are unsurpassed and the historic charm of the main lounge and dinning room are wonderful, the rooms are probably the worst you will ever encounter. Like has been said, they are closest with a bed stuffed in. No AC, no ventilation, no screens on the windows, no room for luggage, paper thin walls, horrible, thin, lumpy beds,... more

My husband and I had stayed at Alta before, years ago. We were excited to go back for a some quiet alone time away from the kids. We got in late so we just went to bed. When we awoke we had a chance to look at our pillows. One was covered in what seemed to be blood. We found... more

In summer this provides a lovely spot to get away from it all and explore the National Park. The rooms are in wooden chalets and it is all self catering. There is good pool and hot tub and space to play games. There are hiking trails straight from the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There is a small... more

We stayed in a one bedroom chalet, the "cheap" room at $218.00 per night. If the room had cost $100-$150.00, I would have been less critical, but for over $200.00 I expected more. Pros: The room was clean ( carpets, linens, etc...) Location was good for hiking in Mt. Rainier NP Staff was friendly Kitchen was well stocked Cons: Property... more

Alta Crystal resort is a small complex of lovely ski condos just outside the entrance to Mount Ranier National Park. The owners provide hospitality and activities for families that are second to none. Besides providing info about Mount Ranier and the huge national foroest area that surrounds them, they have mapped the local trails that start right out the back... more

What a wonderful lodge for our stay at Mt. Rainer NP! Ditto's with all of the other TripAdvisor "posters" to have commented on the beauty and the wonderful condition of this property. My only addition would be to note how very friendly and helpful Loris and her colleagues were during our stay. Lot's of smiles, and good suggestions. OBTW -... more

My family stayed at the Alta Crystal Resort which is very close to the Sunrise entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. We had a Chalet Loft Suite which accomodated my family of 5 very comfortably.
