This is a destination fishing lodge but there is plenty of wildlife and sites nearby if fishing is not your only interest. The fishing, however, was excellent. Sept. 9-11th, 2006 I slept at Brooks campground for 2 nights. The views of the nearby water iare lovely, expecially the sunsets. It is surrounded by an electric fence to keep the bears out. The bears walk along the shoreline less than 50 yrs from the campground's electric fence. It is about a 10 minute leisurely walk from the lodge.... more

The only reason to stay here would be to see the bears in peak season. I was there the first week of September and saw dozens of bears.
