About Brussels Airlines

Brussels Airlines, the largest Belgian airline, flies to more than 65 destinations in Europe and provides long-haul service to more than twenty destinations in Africa. Brussels Airlines was formed from the merger of SN Brussels Airlines and Virgin Express, and from the former assets of Sabena, Belgium's former flag carrier. Headquartered in Brussels, Brussels Airlines is now a subsidiary of Lufthansa, and part of the Star Alliance Network

Class of Service

Brussels Airlines provides two-class service on long-haul flights and three-class service on short-haul flights.

Business Class

Business Class passengers on long-haul flights enjoy dedicated check-in, priority baggage delivery, lounge access, a lie-flat seat, an individual LCD screen featuring movies and other entertainment, a laptop power outlet, complimentary meal and beverage service and a free upgrade to VIP valet parking at Brussels Airport. Passengers traveling in Business Class on short-haul flights enjoy lounge access, complimentary food and beverage service, empty middle seats, priority baggage delivery and expedited security screening (where available).

Flexible Economy Class

Flexible Economy Class, referred to as b.flex economy+, is available on flights throughout Europe. Passengers traveling in b.flex economy+ enjoy complimentary food and beverage service and expedited security screening (where available). b.flex passengers can pay for access to the lounge in Brussels Airport and, subject to availability within the same fare class, can change their booking without penalties.

Economy Class

Passengers traveling in Economy Class on long-haul flights enjoy LCD screens throughout the cabin, featuring movies and other entertainment, and complimentary meal and beverage service. Passengers traveling in Economy Class on short-haul flights, referred to as b.light economy, are able to choose their seats when checking in.

Food and Drink

Complimentary food and beverage service is provided to all passengers on long-haul flights and on routes to Agadir, Athens, Marrakech and Moscow and to Business and b.flex economy+ passengers on short-haul flights.


On long-haul flights, passengers enjoy a wide range of audio channels and movies. Business Class passengers on long-haul flights enjoy individual LCD screens. Brussels Airlines is planning to retrofit its A330-300s with an entertainment system with audio and video on demand at each seat.

In-Flight Technology

Passengers traveling in Business Class on long-haul flights have access to a power outlet for their laptops.

The Fleet

Brussels Airlines' fleet includes the following aircraft types*:

A319 and A320
- There are more than ten A319s and A320s in Brussels Airlines' fleet, which are flown on routes within Europe and to the Middle East.
- Brussels Airlines has approximately five A330s, which it flies on long-haul routes to destinations in Africa. Brussels Airlines plans to install new cabins in its A330-300s, which will have an entertainment system with audio and video on demand at each seat.
Avro RJ85 and RJ100
- there are more than 20 regional jets in Brussels Airlines' fleet, each flying fewer than 100 passengers to destinations within Europe.
- The Brussels Airlines fleet has approximately eight 737s, which are used on flights within Europe.

Customer Loyalty Program

Lufthansa's Miles & More is Brussels Airlines' frequent flyer loyalty program.

  • You can earn miles by flying Brussels Airlines and its airline partners.
  • Miles can also be accrued by purchasing products or services from numerous participating hotel, car and retail partners and by using a Miles & More credit card.
  • Miles can be redeemed for travel and other awards.
  • Award miles not redeemed within 36 months after their accrual date will expire at the end of that quarter. Miles earned by members who have Frequent Traveller, Senator or HON Circle status do not expire provided they retain at least Frequent Traveller status. If a member falls below that, then they will expire 36 months from the loss of Frequent Traveller status.
  • Membership levels are Miles & More Member, Frequent Traveller, Senator and HON Circle Member. Miles & More Member is the entry level for all participants in the Miles & More program. Frequent Traveller status is attained by flying 35,000 status miles in a calendar year. Senator status is obtained by flying 100,000 (130,000 for German residents) status miles in a calendar year. HON Circle Member status is attained by flying 600,000 HON Circle miles spread over two consecutive calendar years. HON Circle miles are obtained by flying Brussels Airlines, certain airline partners and certain rail partners. HON Circle is an extremely prestigious membership level with very personalized service for its members, including personal assistance at Frankfurt and Lufthansa intercontinental stations worldwide.
    • Perks for Frequent Traveller, Senator and HON Circle Member status include mileage bonuses, priority on the waitlist, an extra baggage allowance and lounge access.
    • Frequent Traveller members have Star Alliance Silver status when traveling on Star Alliance airlines.

HON Circle and Senator members are recognized as Star Alliance Gold members when traveling on Star Alliance airlines and have access to Star Alliance members' owned lounges with the Star Alliance Gold logo at the entrance.
