About Turkish Airlines

Turkish Airlines was founded in 1933 by the government of Turkey. Class of Service

Turkish Airlines provides one, two or three classes of service on its flights.

Business Class

Passengers traveling in Business Class enjoy priority check-in and baggage handling, complimentary meal and beverage service and lounge access prior to their flight, including Star Alliance members' owned lounges when traveling on an international flight. Business Class passengers also enjoy either fully lie-flat seats or angled lie-flat seats on the new B777-300, A330-300 and A340-300 aircraft, as well as entertainment systems with audio and video on demand on international flights on A330s, A340s, B777s and B737-800s.

Comfort Class

Comfort Class is Turkish Airlines' premium economy product. Passengers traveling in Comfort Class on new B777-300ERs enjoy a 46-inch seat pitch configured in two-by-three-by-two rows, a 10.6-inch video screen, an entertainment system with audio and video on demand and an iPod outlet and a laptop power outlet at each seat. Comfort Class passengers also enjoy complimentary food and beverage service.

Economy Class

Passengers traveling in Economy Class enjoy complimentary meal and beverage service.

Food and Drink

All passengers receive complimentary meal and beverage service that is tailored to the duration of the flight. A multi-course meal is provided in Business Class on extended range flights. Alcoholic beverages are not served in Economy Class on domestic flights.

Entertainment

Entertainments systems with audio and video on demand are available at all seats on international flights on Turkish Airlines' A330s, A340s, B777s, B737-800s and B727-800s. Aircraft that have a video system but do not have audio and video on demand may show movies or news programs on shared overhead screens, depending on the length of the flight.

In-Flight Technology

On Turkish Airlines' new B777-300ERs and A330-300s, power outlets for laptops and ports for iPods and USB devices are available at each seat. Business Class seats on A340s and A330-200s also have power ports for laptops. Passengers may send and receive text messages and e-mail on select aircraft for a fee. In addition, in-flight phone service is available on long-haul flights for a fee.

The Fleet

Turkish Airlines' fleet includes the following aircraft types*:

A319, A320 and A321
- The A319s feature one class of service, while the A320s and A321s have two classes of service. On some A321s, Business Class is configured in two-by-two rows, while on other A321s, Business Class has a middle seat that is left empty.
A330-200 and -300
- There are approximately fourteen A330s in Turkish Airlines' fleet which are flown with a two class configuration.
A340
- There are approximately nine A340s in the Turkish Airlines fleet, which provide Business Class and Economy Class service.
B737-400, -700 and -800
-Turkish Airlines' fleet includes more than sixty-five 737s, which are flown in various configurations.
B777-300ER
- Turkish Airlines' fleet has approximately thirteen 777s, which provide three classes of service.

Miles&Smiles is Turkish Airlines' frequent flyer loyalty program.

  • You can earn miles by flying Turkish Airlines and Star Alliance airlines.
  • Miles can also be accrued by purchasing products or services from numerous participating hotel, car and other partners and by using a Shop&Miles credit card.
  • Miles can be redeemed for travel and other awards.
  • Miles are valid for 3 years from the date they are credited to your account.
  • Membership levels are Classic, Classic Plus, Elite and Elite Plus. Classic is the entry level for all members. Classic Plus, Elite and Elite Plus are attained by obtaining 25,000, 40,000 and 80,000 Status Miles, respectively, on qualifying flights in a twelve month period.
    • Perks for Classic Plus, Elite and Elite Plus members include priority on waiting lists, an additional baggage allowance, mileage accrual bonuses for flights in Business Class and Comfort Class.
    • Classic Plus members have Star Alliance Silver status when flying on Star Alliance partners and access to the Turkish CIP lounges on domestic flights.
