China Eastern Airlines is a Chinese airline headquartered in Shanghai. Founded in 1988, China Eastern provides air service to more than 150 destinations in China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, Europe, the Americas and Oceania. Class of Service

China Eastern provides up to three classes of service on its flights.

First Class

First Class passengers traveling on China Eastern’s A340s enjoy lounge access, fully lie-flat seats, complimentary meal and beverage service, in-seat power outlets, entertainment systems with audio and video on demand and amenity kits.

Business Class

Business Class passengers receive lounge access and complimentary meal and beverage service. On China Eastern’s A330s and A340s, passengers traveling in Business Class enjoy angled lie-flat seats, in-seat power outlets and entertainment systems with audio and video on demand.

Economy Class

Economy Class passengers receive complimentary meal and beverage service on long haul flights. In-seat video entertainment is provided on China Eastern’s A330-300s, and shared entertainment on overhead screens is available on China Eastern’s other A330s and A340s.

Food and Drink

China Eastern provides complimentary meal and beverage service that varies depending on the route and destination.


First and Business Class passengers on China Eastern’s A330s and A340s and all Economy Class passengers on A330-300s enjoy a personal television, featuring films, television programs, CDs, audio books, radio programs and games. Economy Class passengers traveling on China Eastern’s other A330s and A340s enjoy shared video programming on overhead screens, as well as a variety of music channels.

In-Flight Technology

First and Business Class passengers on China Eastern’s A330s and A340s have 110V AC power outlets at their seats.

Eastern Miles is China Eastern Airlines’ frequent flyer loyalty program.

  • You can earn points by flying China Eastern, SkyTeam partners and certain other airline partners.
  • Points can also be earned by purchasing products or services from numerous participating hotel, car and retail partners and by using an affiliated credit card.
  • Points can be redeemed for travel and other awards.
  • Points expire on December 31 of the third calendar year following the date of accrual.
  • Membership levels are Silver and Gold. These membership levels are attained by obtaining 100,000 and 180,000 points or flying 50 and 100 segments, respectively, on qualifying flights in a 24 calendar month period.
    • Perks for Silver and Gold members include bonus points, priority on the waitlist and lounge access.
    • Silver members are recognized at the SkyTeam Elite level.
    • Gold members are given SkyTeam Elite Plus status when flying on SkyTeam partners and have access to a SkyTeam lounge if traveling on an international flight.
