EGYPTAIR was founded in 1932 and is the flag carrier of Egypt. Headquartered in Cairo, its hubs and focus cities are Cairo International Airport (CAI), Alexandria International Airport (AEX), Hurghada International Airport (HRG), Luxor International Airport (LXR) and Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport (SSH). Class of Service

EGYPTAIR provides two-class and three-class service on its flights.

First Class

First Class is available on EGYPTAIR's A340s and select Boeing 777s. Passengers traveling in First Class enjoy lounge access, including Star Alliance members' owned First Class lounges when traveling on an international flight, advance seat selection, priority check-in, baggage handling and personal video screens.

Business Class

Business Class passengers enjoy lounge access, including Star Alliance members' owned Business Class lounges when traveling on an international flight, advance seat selection, priority check-in and baggage handling. Onboard, passengers enjoy lie-flat seats on select A330s and select B777s, as well as personal video screens on A330s, A340s and select B737s and B777s.

Economy Class

Economy Class passengers enjoy advance seat selection and personal video screens on select A330s and select B777s.

Food and Drink

All of EGYPTAIR's standard meals are halal, prepared in accordance with Islamic dietary law, and are served with non-alcoholic beverages. EGYPTAIR does not serve alcohol on its flights.

Entertainment

Many aircraft provide video entertainment on personal video screens or on shared overhead screens. Personal video screens are available to First Class passengers on EGYPTAIR'S Airbus A340s and Boeing 777s, to Business Class passengers on A330s, A340s and select B737s and B777s, and to Economy Class passengers on select B737s and B777s.

In-Flight Technology

Power outlets are available on select A330s, select B737s and select B777s.

The Fleet

EGYPTAIR'S fleet includes the following aircraft types:

A320 and A321
- There are more than fifteen A320s and A321s in EGYPTAIR's fleet, which are used on short-haul flights and can seat up to 185 passengers in Business and Economy Classes.
A330-243 and -300
- EGYPTAIR has more than five A330s in its fleet, and they have a two-class configuration.
A340
- EGYPTAIR's fleet includes more than five A340s, each seating up to 260 passengers in a three-class configuration.
B737-500 and -800
- There are more than fifteen 737s in EGYPTAIR's fleet, which are used on short- and medium-haul flights and can seat up to 144 passengers in a two-class configuration.
B777­-200 and -300
- EGYPTAIR's more than ten 777s seat up to 346 passengers and provide two or three classes of service.
E-170
- EGYPTAIR EXPRESS operates E-170s on its domestic and regional routes.

Egyptair Plus is Egyptair's frequent flyer loyalty program.

  • You can earn miles by flying EGYPTAIR and Star Alliance airlines.
  • Miles can also be accrued by purchasing products or services from numerous participating hotel and car partners.
  • Miles can be redeemed for travel awards.
  • Miles are valid for 36 months from the date earned.
  • Membership levels are Blue, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Blue is the entry level for all members. Silver membership level is attained by flying 30,000 miles on qualifying flights. Gold membership level is attained by flying 30,000 miles on qualifying flights after achieving the Silver membership level. Platinum membership level is attained by flying 1,000,000 miles on EGYPTAIR qualifying flights.
    • Perks for attaining status include priority on the waitlist, a mileage accrual bonus on all flights and lounge access for Gold and Platinum members.
    • Silver members have Star Alliance Silver status when flying on Star Alliance partners.
    • Gold and Platinum members are recognized at the Star Alliance Gold level and have access to any Star Alliance member carriers' owned lounges with the Star Alliance Gold logo at the entrance.
