About Middle East Airlines

Middle East Airlines is the national airline of Lebanon. Middle East Airlines, also referred to as MEA, was founded in 1945 and operates its headquarters and hub at Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut. MEA flies toapproximately 30 international destinations in Europe, the Middle East and West Africa.

Class of Service

MEA provides two classes of service on its flights.

Cedar Class

Cedar Class passengers enjoy lounge access, complimentary food and beverage service and an additional baggage allowance. MEA's Meet & Assist and Limousine Services are available to Cedar Class passengers at select airports.

Economy Class

Economy Class passengers enjoy complimentary food and beverage service and seatback video entertainment on select aircraft.

Food and Drink

Complimentary food and beverage service is provided to all passengers, and meals vary depending on the departure time and duration of the flight. MEA incorporates both Lebanese and European cuisine into its menu.

Entertainment

On select aircraft, passengers enjoy entertainment systems with audio and video on demand, featuring movies, games and music.

The Fleet

MEA's fleet includes the following aircraft types:

A320-200 and A321-200
The A320s and A321s in MEA's fleet are configured with two classes of service and can seat 126 and 149 passengers, respectively.
A330-200
MEA's A330s can seat up to 244 passengers in two classes of service.

MEA is expected to become a member of SkyTeam in 2012.

Customer Loyalty Program

Cedar Miles is MEA's frequent flyer loyalty program.

  • You can earn miles by flying MEA and certain airline partners.
  • Miles can also be accrued by purchasing products or services from participating hotel and car partners and byusing an affiliated credit card.
  • Miles can be redeemed for travel awards.
  • Miles expire on December 31st of the year that is 5 years after they are earned.
  • Membership levels are Blue Cedar, Silver Cedar and Gold Cedar. Blue Cedar is the entry level for all Cedar Miles members. Silver Cedar and Gold Cedar membership levels are attained by flying 20,000 and 40,000 miles or 15 and 30 segments, respectively, on qualifying flights in one calendar year.
    • Perks for Silver Cedar and Gold Cedar members include priority on the wait list and lounge access. Gold Cedar members also receive mileage bonuses.
