About Blue1

Blue1 is a Finnish airline that began operations in 1988 and has been part of the SAS Group since 1998. Blue1, headquartered in Vantaa, Finland, is the second largest Finnish airline. The airline operates its hubs and focus cities at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, from which it provides domestic service within Finland and service throughout Europe. If you book a Blue1 ticket online and specify your mobile phone number, Blue1 will send you a check-in message prior to your departure, to which you can simply reply “yes” to check in.

Class of Service

Blue1 allows passengers to customize their trip by selling a variety of fares with different benefits.

Business Class

Business Class passengers enjoy fast track security at select airports, lounge access, complimentary meal and beverage service and Business Class check-in.

Blue1 Premium

Blue1 Premium is an enhanced economy product. Blue1 Premium passengers enjoy fast track security at select airports, complimentary meal and beverage service, Business Class check-in and lounge access if flying between Finland, Continental Europe and the UK.

Premium Holiday

Passengers traveling on Premium Holiday fares, which generally must be booked at least 28 days before departure, enjoy advanced seat reservation, fast track security at select airports and complimentary meal and beverage service.

Economy Class

Economy Class passengers enjoy free online seat reservation and complimentary coffee or tea. Economy Flex and Economy Full Flex passengers have more flexibility to change their flights.

Food and Drink

Passengers traveling in Business Class, Blue1 Premium and Premium Holiday enjoy complimentary meal and beverage service. The meal may be hot or cold, depending on the destination. Economy Class passengers enjoy complimentary coffee or tea, and if the flight time allows, other food and beverages are available for purchase from the Cafe1 menu.


Blue1 does not offer inflight entertainment on its flights.

Customer Loyalty Program

EuroBonus is Blue1’s frequent flyer loyalty program, and it is also the frequent flyer program of SAS.

  • You can earn points by flying Blue1, SAS, Star Alliance airlines and other airline partners.
  • Points can also be accrued by purchasing products or services from numerous participating hotel, car and retail partners and by using a EuroBonus credit card.
  • Points can be redeemed for travel and other awards.
  • Points are valid for 4 years after the qualification period in which they are earned.
  • Membership levels are Basic, Silver and Gold. Basic is the entry level for all EuroBonus members. Silver membership level is attained by accruing 20,000 points or 20 one-way flights on qualifying flights in the twelve month period starting with the month of your enrollment. Depending on your country or region, Gold membership level is attained by accruing between 45,000 and 70,000 points or between 35 and 40 one-way flights on qualifying flights in the twelve month period starting with the month of your enrollment.
    • Silver and Gold members enjoy an additional baggage allowance, priority on the waitlist and mileage bonuses. Gold members enjoy worldwide lounge access.
    • Silver members are recognized as Star Alliance Silver members when traveling on Star Alliance partners.
    • Gold members have Star Alliance Gold Status when traveling on Star Alliance airlines and have access to Star Alliance members’ owned lounges with the Star Alliance Gold logo at the entrance.
