About Korean Air

Korean Air is the flag carrier and the largest airline of South Korea. Established as a private airline in 1969, Korean Air now provides service to more than 100 cities in approximately 40 countries. Korean Air is headquartered in Seoul and operates its hubs and focus cities at Incheon International Airport, Gimpo International Airport, Gimhae International Airport and Jeju International Airport.

Class of Service

Korean Air provides up to three classes of service on its aircraft.

First Class

Depending on the aircraft, First Class passengers enjoy First Class Kosmo Suites, First Class Kosmo Sleeper Seats, First Class Sleeper Seats or First Class Seats. The First Class Kosmo Suites are the newest First Class seats in the fleet and are fully lie-flat seats. They also feature 23-inch LCD monitors with audio and video on demand, individual work tables and noise isolation headphones. The First Class Kosmo Sleeper Seats feature fully lie-flat seats, 17-inch LCD monitors with audio and video on demand and noise isolation headsets. First Class Sleeper Seats feature angled lie-flat seats and 10.4-inch LCD monitors. The First Class Seats feature a 62-inch pitch and 6.5-inch LCD monitors.First Class passengers traveling on international flights also enjoy exclusive check-in counters, a personal guide from the check-in counter to the boarding gate in Seoul/Incheon, lounge access as well as priority boarding and baggage handling.

Prestige Class

Depending on the aircraft, Prestige Class passengers may enjoy fully lie-flat Prestige Sleeper Seats and 15.4-inch LCD monitors with audio and video on demand. Other aircraft have Prestige Plus Seats, which are angled, bed-type seats with 10.4-inch LCD monitors. Prestige Class Seats, which are recliner seats with 50-inch pitch and 6.5-inch LCD monitors, are installed in select aircraft. Prestige Class passengers traveling on international flights also enjoy exclusive check-in counters, lounge access and priority boarding and baggage handling.

Economy Class

On select aircraft passengers traveling in Economy Class enjoy New Economy Seats, which are slim seats with sliding seat cushions that offer more comfort during flight, as well as 10.6-inch LCD monitors with audio and video on demand. Other aircraft feature Economy Class Seats, which are traditional seats rather than slim-designed seats, and 8.4-inch LCD monitors with audio and video on demand.

Food and Drink

On international flights, passengers enjoy menus featuring western, Chinese, Japanese and traditional Korean options. On domestic flights, Prestige Class passengers enjoy snack and beverage service.

Entertainment

Entertainment systems with audio and video on demand, featuring more than 50 films, 3,000 songs, a wide range of video games and news programs, is available on A330s, A380s, B747s, B777s and select B737s. Shared video entertainmentis available on select other aircraft.

In-Flight Technology

In Economy Class, Korean Air’s B747s, B777s and A330s have one 110V AC power outlet for each seat group. USB ports are available in Economy Class on select aircraft. Passengers traveling in First Class and Prestige Class have 110V AC power outlets at each seat on Korean Air’s B747s, B777s and A330s and at select seats on its B737s.

There are approximately 7 A300s in Korean Air’s fleet, and they feature Prestige Class Seats and Economy ClassSeats.
A330-200 and -300
Korean Air operates more than 20 A330s in its fleet, and they feature First Class Sleeper Seats, Prestige Plus Seats and the New Economy Class Seats.
A380-800
There are approximately 5 A380s in Korean Air’s fleet, and they have First Class Kosmo Suites, Prestige Sleeper Seats and the New Economy Class Seats.
B737-800, -900 and -900ER
Korean Air’s fleet includes more than 30 737s, which are configured in multiple layouts with Prestige Class Seats and Economy Class Seats.
B747-400
Korean Air operates more than 15 747s, and depending on the aircraft, they are configured with Prestige Plus Seats, Economy Class Seats and either First Class Kosmo Sleeper Seats or First Class Sleeper Seats.
B777-200ER, -300 and -300ER
There are more than 30 777s in Korean Air’s fleet, and they are configured in a variety of layouts with various types of seats.

SKYPASS is Korean Air’s frequent flyer loyalty program.

  • You can earn award miles by flying Korean Air, other SkyTeam partners and other airline partners.
  • Award miles can also be earned by purchasing products or services from numerous participating hotel, car and retail partners and by using an affiliated credit card.
  • Miles can be redeemed for travel awards.
  • Miles are valid for a period of 10 years.
  • Membership levels are Morning Calm Club, Morning Calm Premium Club and Million Miler Club. Morning Calm Clubmembership is attained by earning 50,000 flown miles on Korean Air or earning 50,000 miles on Korean Air and SKYPASSpartners as long as at least 30,000 miles are earned from flying on Korean Air or flying more than 40 qualifying flights on Korean Air (domestic flights in Korea are counted as half of a qualifying flight). Morning Calm Premium Club is attained by earning 500,000 flown miles or more on Korean Air and/or other SkyTeam partner airlines. Million Miler Club membership is attained by earning 1,000,000 flown miles or more on Korean Air and/or other SkyTeam partner airlines.
    • o Perks for Morning Calm Club, Morning Calm Premium Club and Million Miler Club members include lounge access, waitlist priority and an additional baggage allowance.
    • o Morning Calm Club members are recognized at the SkyTeam Elite level when flying on SkyTeam partnerairlines.
