TAM is a Brazilian airline headquartered in São Paulo. Founded in 1976, TAM operates its hub and focus cities in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Manaus, Porto Alegre, Florianópolis, Fortaleza, Recife and Buenos Aires. The TAM Group, which includes Pantanal Linhas Aéreas, provides service to more than 60 domestic and international destinations.
In August 2010, TAM and Chilean airline LAN announced that they intended to merge their companies. In December 2011, the merger received approval from Brazil's antitrust regulator. Once the merger is consummated, the merged company will be Latin America's largest airline.
TAM provides up to three classes of service on its flights.
First Class passengers enjoy dedicated check-in, priority baggage handling, lounge access and priority boarding. Onboard, passengers traveling in First Class enjoy fully lie-flat seats in a suite configuration, complimentary meal and beverage service, amenity kits and personal video screens with audio and video on demand. Eligible First Class passengers can book complimentary chauffeured car service to and from the airport.
Business Class passengers enjoy dedicated check-in, priority baggage handling, lounge access and complimentary meal and beverage service. Onboard, passengers enjoy fully lie-flat seats on B777 aircraft and angled lie flat seats on A330 aircraft.
Passengers traveling in Economy Class enjoy individual video screens with audio and video on demand on B777 and A330 aircraft and, depending on the time of day and duration of the flight, complimentary food and beverage service. Economy Class passengers can purchase Comfort Seats with additional legroom for a fee.
Complimentary meal and beverage service is served to all passengers on long-haul flights. On shorter flights, complimentary beverages are provided, and snack or meal service may be offered depending on the length of the flight and the time of day.
Individual screens with audio and video on demand are available to all passengers traveling on B777s and A330s. Select aircraft on short-haul flights have shared, overhead screens, as well as a selection of audio channels.
Passengers traveling in First Class and Business Class on B777s and A330s have in-seat 110V AC power outlets.
