TAM is a Brazilian airline headquartered in São Paulo. Founded in 1976, TAM operates its hub and focus cities in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Manaus, Porto Alegre, Florianópolis, Fortaleza, Recife and Buenos Aires. The TAM Group, which includes Pantanal Linhas Aéreas, provides service to more than 60 domestic and international destinations.

In August 2010, TAM and Chilean airline LAN announced that they intended to merge their companies. In December 2011, the merger received approval from Brazil's antitrust regulator. Once the merger is consummated, the merged company will be Latin America's largest airline.

Class of Service

TAM provides up to three classes of service on its flights.

First Class

First Class passengers enjoy dedicated check-in, priority baggage handling, lounge access and priority boarding. Onboard, passengers traveling in First Class enjoy fully lie-flat seats in a suite configuration, complimentary meal and beverage service, amenity kits and personal video screens with audio and video on demand. Eligible First Class passengers can book complimentary chauffeured car service to and from the airport.

Business Class

Business Class passengers enjoy dedicated check-in, priority baggage handling, lounge access and complimentary meal and beverage service. Onboard, passengers enjoy fully lie-flat seats on B777 aircraft and angled lie flat seats on A330 aircraft.

Economy Class

Passengers traveling in Economy Class enjoy individual video screens with audio and video on demand on B777 and A330 aircraft and, depending on the time of day and duration of the flight, complimentary food and beverage service. Economy Class passengers can purchase Comfort Seats with additional legroom for a fee.

Food and Drink

Complimentary meal and beverage service is served to all passengers on long-haul flights. On shorter flights, complimentary beverages are provided, and snack or meal service may be offered depending on the length of the flight and the time of day.

Entertainment

Individual screens with audio and video on demand are available to all passengers traveling on B777s and A330s. Select aircraft on short-haul flights have shared, overhead screens, as well as a selection of audio channels.

In-Flight Technology

Passengers traveling in First Class and Business Class on B777s and A330s have in-seat 110V AC power outlets.

The Fleet

TAM's fleet includes the following aircraft types*:

TAM operates over 125 A319s, A320s and A321, which can seat between 144 and 220 passengers in a single-class configuration.

A330

There are approximately twenty A330s in TAMS's fleet, and they can seat up to 223 passengers in a three-class configuration.

B767

TAM's fleet includes approximately three B767s, which are configured with two classes of service.

B777

TAM operates approximately four B777s, which can seat up to 362 passengers in a three-class configuration.

Customer Loyalty Program

Fidelidade is TAM's frequent flyer loyalty program.

• You can earn points by flying TAM, Star Alliance airlines and other airline partners.
• Points can also be accrued by purchasing products or services from participating hotel, car and retail partners and by using an affiliated credit card.
• Points can be redeemed for travel and other awards.
• Points are valid for two years.
• Membership levels are White, Blue, Red and Black. White is the entry level for all Fidelidade members. Blue, Red and Black membership levels are attained by accruing 12,000, 48,000 and 150,000 points, respectively, on qualifying flights in a calendar year. Note that the 150,000 points needed to attain Black membership must be earned on TAM flights.
• Perks for Blue, Red and Black members include priority standby and mileage bonuses. Red and Black members also receive lounge access.
• Blue members have Star Alliance Silver status when traveling on Star Alliance airlines.
• Red and Black members are recognized as Star Alliance Gold members when traveling on Star Alliance airlines and have access to Star Alliance members' owned lounges with the Star Alliance Gold logo at the entrance when traveling on Star Alliance member airlines.
