Etihad Airways is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and was set up by royal decree in July 2003 with commercial operations beginning that November. Etihad operates its hub in Abu Dhabi and serves more than 65 destinations in more than 40 countries. Etihad has grown rapidly and plans to continue its expansion with the large number of Boeing 777, 787, and Airbus 380 wide-body jets scheduled for delivery over the next decade. In its short time in operation, Etihad has quickly distinguished itself as an ultra-premium airline, earning many accolades for both its First and Business Class products. Their new terminal in Abu Dhabi opened in 2009 and was designed to feel more like a luxury hotel than an airport terminal, offering personal concierges at check-in for premium class passengers and a slew of luxury and designer brands in the duty free mall.

Class of Service

Etihad provides either two-class or three-class service on its flights.

Diamond First Class

Diamond First Class is available on many long-haul flights and Diamond First Class Suite is available on select flights on Etihad's A330s and A340-600s. The First Class Suite offers a well appointed personal cabin for each guest, complete with sliding doors for maximum privacy. Passengers in Diamond First Class enjoy fully lie-flat bed seats, noise-cancelling headsets, à la carte and on-demand dining, a personal mini-bar, mood lighting, limousine service to and from the airport (in select cities), as well as lounge access.

Pearl Business Class

Passengers in Pearl Business Class enjoy fully lie-flat seats and 15" personal video screens on all aircraft except the A319s and A320s, which have recliner seats and 10.7" video screens. Passengers also enjoy noise-cancelling headsets, à la carte or on-demand dining, mood lighting, limousine service to and from the airport (in select cities), and lounge access.

Coral Economy Class

Passengers in Coral Economy Class enjoy complimentary meals and personal on-demand entertainment systems on most flights,.

Food and Drink

Complimentary meal and beverage service is provided to all passengers on all flights. Passengers in First Class and Business Class enjoy à la carte and on-demand dining, and passengers in Economy Class enjoy a choice of three meal options.

Entertainment

Most aircraft are equipped with personal on-demand entertainment systems at all seats, featuring movies, television programs, games, radio and music albums. Diamond First Class passengers enjoy their on-screen entertainment on 23" LCD widescreens.

In-Flight Technology

Power outlets compatible with most major plug types are available at all seats. USB outlets allow passengers to plug and play their own entertainment through Etihad's entertainment system.

The Fleet

Etihad's fleet includes the following aircraft types*:

A319 and A320

- Etihad uses both of these Airbus aircraft types on short-haul routes with two classes of service onboard.

A330s

- There are more than fifteen A330s in the Etihad fleet, which are flown in three different configurations.

A340-500

- The ultra-long range version of the Airbus 340 is used on long-haul flights and flies non-stop from the Middle East to the United States and from Abu Dhabi to Australia.

A340-600

- Etihad has approximately seven A340-600s in its fleet, which feature three classes of service.

B777-300ER

- There are more than five Boeing 777s in Etihad's fleet, offering two classes of service.

Etihad Guest is Etihad's frequent flyer loyalty program.

• You can earn miles by flying Etihad, one of Etihad's airline partners¸ or by purchasing products or services from numerous participating hotel, leisure and retail partners.
• Miles can be redeemed for travel and other awards.

• Miles expire three years after they are earned.
• Membership levels are Etihad Guest Silver, Etihad Guest Gold and Etihad Guest Gold Elite. These membership levels are attained by flying 25,000, 50,000 and 125,000 miles or 20, 40 and 60 segments, respectively, on qualifying flights in a twelve-month period.
• Perks include mileage bonuses, waitlist priority, upgrade privileges and lounge access.
