About Emirates

Emirates, which began flight operations in 1985, now flies to over 100 destinations in 66 countries. Part of the Emirates Group and wholly-owned by the government of Dubai, Emirates is the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates and the largest carrier in the Middle East. Emirates is based in Dubai, and its hubs and focus cities are Dubai International Airport (DXB), Melbourne Airport (MEL), Suvarnabhumi Airport-Bangkok (BKK), Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) and Sydney Airport (SYD). Emirates was also the launch and largest customer for the A380, which it now flies to over 20 destinations world-wide.

Class of Service

Emirates provides two-class and three-class service on certain flights. Emirates has won numerous awards over the years for the high quality of its overall service.

First Class

In addition to outstanding service, First Class passengers enjoy complimentary meal and beverage service, lounge access, including upon arrival at select destinations, chauffeur-driven cars to and from the airport in many cities and depending on the aircraft, reclining seats, angled lie-flat seats or fully lie-flat seats. Onboard Emirates' A380s, First Class passengers also enjoy an electronic sliding door to their private suite, a personal mini-bar, adjustable ambient lighting, a fully-flat bed, a 23-inch video screen with over 1,200 on-demand video and audio channels, an amenity kit and an onboard shower spa that may be booked in advance.

Business Class

Business Class passengers enjoy lounge access, including upon arrival at select destinations, complimentary meal and beverage service and chauffeur-driven cars to and from the airport in many cities. Passengers traveling in Business Class also enjoy angled lie-flat seats on Emirates' Airbus A380s and select Boeing 777s.

Economy Class

Economy Class passengers enjoy complimentary beverage service and, on long-haul flights, meal service. Passengers on all aircraft have personal televisions, and they enjoy entertainment systems with audio and video on demand on Emirates' A380s and select A340s and B777s.

Food and Drink

Economy Class passengers enjoy complimentary beverage service and, on long-haul flights, complimentary meal service. Complimentary meal and beverage service, including Healthy Meal Options on most long-haul flights, is provided to First Class and Business Class passengers. First Class passengers enjoy a seven course lunch and dinner, and may order multi-course meals and snacks at any time. Note that alcohol is not served on flights to Saudi Arabia.

Entertainment

Entertainment systems with audio and video on demand are available at all seats on Emirates' A340-500s, A380s and select B777s and in First Class and Business Class on Emirates' A330-200s, A340-300s and certain other B777s. Economy Class passengers on Emirates' A330s, A340-300s and select B777s enjoy personal video screens with a choice of movies, television programming, music and games. The quality of Emirates' inflight entertainment was recognized at the 2010 Skytrax World Airline Awards where it was awarded World's Best Airline Inflight Entertainment.

In-Flight Technology

All passengers enjoy AC 110v power outlets on the A380 and select B777s. AC power outlets are available in First Class and Business Class on Emirates' A330s, A340-500s and certain B777s. Some aircraft feature satellite telephone, SMS and email services for a fee. Additionally, if you have a roaming agreement with AeroMobile, you may use your own GSM mobile phone to make calls on select flights.

- Emirates' fuel efficient A380s provide three-class service to more than 15 destinations around the world, including on the Dubai-New York and Dubai-London routes.

- There are more than seventy 777s in Emirates' fleet, with additional aircraft on order, and they are flown with two and three classes of service.

  • You can earn miles by flying Emirates and its partner airlines.
  • Miles can also be accrued by purchasing products or services from numerous participating hotel, car, leisure and lifestyle partners and by using affiliated credit cards.
  • Miles can be redeemed for travel and other awards.
  • Miles are valid for three years from the date on which they are credited to your account.
  • Membership levels are Blue, Silver and Gold. Blue is the entry level for all members. Silver and Gold membership levels are attained by accruing 25,000, and 50,000 tier miles, respectively, on qualifying flights in a 13-month period.
  • Perks include priority on the waitlist for Blue, Silver and Gold members. Silver and Gold members also receive bonus mileage, as well as lounge access in Dubai for Silver members and lounge access throughout the Emirates network for Gold members.
  • You can transfer miles for a fee.
