About Cathay Pacific Airways

Cathay Pacific Airways, one of the world's largest airlines, is headquartered at the Hong Kong International Airport. Founded in 1946, the airline is the flag carrier for Hong Kong and operates its hub in Hong Kong.The Cathay Pacific Group, which includes Cathay Pacific and Dragonair, flies to approximately 130 destinations worldwide. Class of Service

Cathay Pacific now provides up to four classes of service on its flights.

First Class

First Class passengers enjoy fully lie-flat seats in a suite configuration, complimentary meal service with meals made to order, noise-canceling headsets, a 17-inch video screen with audio and video on demand, dedicated check-in, lounge access and on long-haul flights, pajamas by Shanghai Tsang and amenity kits featuring Acca Kappa and Aesop products.

Business Class

Business Class passengers enjoy complimentary meal service, noise-canceling headsets, a 15.4-inch video screen with audio and video on demand, dedicated check-in and on long-haul flights, amenity kits featuring Murad products. Cathay Pacific is introducing a new, enhanced Business Class product on Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which features a larger fully lie-flat seat, as well as iPod and USB ports.

Premium Economy

Premium Economy Class passenger experience a new seat with 38 inches of pitch - six inches more than Economy Class. The seat is wider, has a deeper recline, in addition to six more inches of seat pitch than Economy seats. The seat also includes a footrest, a 10.6-inch personal television, in-seat power and a multi-port connector for personal devices. Premium Economy passengers have dedicated priority check-in counters in addition to priority boarding before Economy Class passengers. The new Premium Economy cabin will be progressively installed on long-haul aircraft including Boeing 777-300ERs, Boeing 747-400s, Airbus A330-300s and Airbus A340-300s.

Economy Class

Economy Class passengers on long-haul aircraft enjoy fixed-back shell seats, 9" wide screens featuring audio and video on-demand, and depending on the length of the flight, complimentary meal or snack service. Exit row seats with extra leg room are also available for an extra fee.

Food and Drink

Passengers on Cathay Pacific enjoy complimentary meal and snack service, depending on the length of the flight. First Class passengers can choose their own meals and dine anytime they wish, and their dinner includes a caviar service and premium champagne. Business Class passengers are offered a multi-course meal, and Economy Class passengers are offered a meal and beverage service.

Entertainment

Long-haul aircraft feature audio and video on demand on Cathay Pacific's studioCX system with more than 100 movies, 500 television programs, 888 CDs, 22 radio channels and games. Passengers on other aircraft enjoy personal televisions with up to 20 video and 22 radio channels. Movies are available on routes having flying time over two hours and 40 minutes.

In-Flight Technology

Passengers on long-haul flights have access to 110v AC power outlets. Regional aircraft have 15v DC EmPower ports that require an adapter to plug in a laptop. Satellite phone service is available on certain aircraft for a fee.

The Marco Polo Club is Cathay Pacific's frequent flyer loyalty program. Asia Miles is an independent travel reward program that includes a variety of airline, travel and retail partners.

  • You can join The Marco Polo Club for a fee and automatically be enrolled as an Asia Miles member.
  • You can earn miles in Asia Miles by flying Cathay Pacific, oneworld alliance airlines and other partner airlines.
  • Miles can also be accrued by purchasing products or services from numerous participating hotel, car and retail partners and by using a Cathay Pacific credit card.
  • Miles can be redeemed for travel and other awards.
  • Miles are valid for three years, and you can renew them for another three years for a fee.
  • Membership levels in the Marco Polo Club are Green, Silver, Gold and Diamond. Green is the entry level for all members. To obtain the Silver membership level and to upgrade to the Gold and then the Diamond membership levels, you must obtain 30,000, 60,000 and 120,000 Club miles or 20, 40 and 80 Club sectors, respectively, in the twelve months following the anniversary of the day on which you joined.
    • Silver, Gold and Diamond members enjoy priority on the waitlist, an additional checked baggage allowance and lounge access that varies depending on your membership level.
    • Marco Polo Club Silver members receive oneworld Ruby status when traveling with oneworld partners.
    • Marco Polo Club Gold members are recognized as having oneworld Sapphire status when traveling with oneworld partners and have pre-flight access to the Business Class and Frequent Flyer Lounges across the oneworld network.
    • Marco Polo Club Diamond members receive oneworld Emerald status when traveling with oneworld partners and have access to the First Class, Business Class and Frequent Flyer Lounges across the oneworld network.
