Thomson Airways, with its headquarters at Luton Airport, is the world's largest charter airline. It offers scheduled and charter flights from the UK to more than 80 destinations across Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. Thomson Airways traces its roots back to the founding of its predecessor, Euravia Ltd., in 1962. In 2008, Thomsonfly and First Choice Airways merged, and the merged company changed its name to Thomson Airways.
In 2010, Thomson Airways was honored as the Most Environmentally and Socially Responsible Airline at the British Travel Awards and the Best Leisure/Charter Airline at the World Airline Awards.
Thomson provides two classes of service on its flights.
Passengers traveling in Premium Class on long-haul flights enjoy a 9-inch widescreen with entertainment on demand, complimentary noise-reducing headsets, priority check-in and boarding, free alcoholic beverages (other than champagne), a four course meal and a snack before landing. Passengers may take advantage of day before check-in at certain airports.
Passengers traveling in Standard Class on long-haul flights enjoy leather seats, an amenity pack, a 7-inch widescreen featuring movies, television programs and games, complimentary headphones, and a complimentary meal and snack. Passengers can choose a seat with extra space for a fee. Standard Class passengers may also take advantage of day before check-in at certain airports.
Complimentary meal service is provided to all passengers on long-haul flights. On short-haul flights, passengers will have the option to purchase hot and cold beverages, as well as light bites or more substantial snacks.
Passengers on long haul flights have personal seat-back entertainment systems, featuring movies, television programs, audio programming and games. Premium Class passengers enjoy on-demand entertainment on 9-inch widescreens, while Standard Class passengers have 7-inch widescreens.
